Whether you are 1 or 100 years old, an upcoming trip to the
beach or shore is
anxiously anticipated.
Depending on what part of the country you reside will determine
whether you call
it the beach or the shore.
In my neck of the woods,we refer to it as the beach. Doesn't
matter if it's Maine, NJ,
Va or Fl. if it has the ocean or bay...it's a beach.
With that out of the way, I would like to point a few things out.
Alot of people do not realize this, but every beach I've been to
has sand.I'm sure every beach you have visited has sand also.
One thing that grits my teeth more then sand are people who
apparently do not know this.
It is amusing watching people dust off their blankets, chairs, and
feet over and over again. They grab their children just before
they step onto the blanket with screeches of "You are going to
get sand on the blanket". Helloooo. You are at the
beach. Look around, sand is everywhere, it comes with the
territory.
Just accept the fact that you will have sand in every crevice for
your duration of your beach vacation. It will follow you to your
car..to your bed. It's a fact of life.
If you accept that, you will have a wonderful vacation.
Be a kid again. Remember reaching into the coolor and grabbing
your peanut butter sandwich with the sandiest hands of all time?
They were the best sandwiches in the world!
The rest of us who are enjoying ourselves do not want to hear
you moaning at your children about the sand.A rite of passage
is having had mounds of sand in your bathing suit bottoms.
OK now we have the sand out of the way.
Another thing we look forward to along with the sand and sea is
the sun. Looking down a beach you wouldn't think that. Look at
all the beach umbrellas. Now I do understand that folks may be a
little timid over the sun with all the hollabaloo over
skin cancer. But the Vitamin D benefits out way the risks.
But, if you aren't sure and you want your skin protected and you
rather like the pasty white look. At least put your umbrella up
correctly. Nothing like getting hit by a wayward umbrella when
you are sucking up the rays and in a deep state of
relaxation.
